Hassan, Jan. 19: The birth anniversary of Purandaradasa, a great Haridasa saint of Kannada and the father of Carnatic music, was celebrated herein Rashtrotthana Vidya Kendra – Hassan. Samanvay of class VII explained the life story of Purandaradasa and told how he instilled devotion, ethics and human values in the society through his kirtans. The students sang the kirtan “Guruvina Gulamanaguva Tanaka”.

ಹಾಸನ, ಜ. 19: ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೋತ್ಥಾನ ವಿದ್ಯಾಕೇಂದ್ರ – ಹಾಸನದಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡದ ಮಹಾನ್ ಹರಿದಾಸ ಸಂತರು ಹಾಗೂ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸಂಗೀತದ ಪಿತಾಮಹಾರೆಂದು ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧರಾದ ಪುರಂದರದಾಸರ ಜಯಂತಿಯನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಏಳನೇ ತರಗತಿಯ ಸಮನ್ವಯ್ ಪುರಂದರದಾಸರ ಜೀವನ ಚರಿತ್ರೆಯನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸಿ, ಅವರ ಕೀರ್ತನೆಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಸಮಾಜದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಕ್ತಿ, ನೀತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಮಾನವೀಯ ಮೌಲ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಗೆ ಬೆಳೆಸಿದರು ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸಿದನು. ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು “ಗುರುವಿನ ಗುಲಾಮನಾಗುವ ತನಕ” ಎಂಬ ಕೀರ್ತನೆಯನ್ನು ಹಾಡಿದರು.
