Hassan, Jan. 14: The Rashtrotthana Vidya Kendra – Hassan celebrated Sankranti, one of India’s major festivals, commonly referred to as the Farmers’ Festival or Suggi Festival. The Principal, Smt. Uma S. Patil, conducted the worship of cows and the Rashi Puja. While discussing the background, significance, and uniqueness of the Sankranti festival, Principal Smt. Uma S. Patil stated that on the day of Makar Sankranti, the Sun God alters his path, thereby bestowing new life upon the universe. We celebrate the day when the Sun transitions from the zodiac of Sagittarius to Capricorn as Makar Sankranti. Students conveyed the importance of the Sankranti festival and demonstrated its significance through dance.

ಹಾಸನ, ಜ. 14: ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೋತ್ಥಾನ ವಿದ್ಯಾಕೇಂದ್ರ – ಹಾಸನದಲ್ಲಿ ರೈತರ ಹಬ್ಬ, ಸುಗ್ಗಿ ಹಬ್ಬ ಎಂದೆಲ್ಲ ಕರೆಯುವ ಭಾರತದ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಹಬ್ಬಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದಾದ ಸಂಕ್ರಾಂತಿ ಹಬ್ಬವನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಪ್ರಧಾನಾಚಾರ್ಯರಾದ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಉಮಾ ಎಸ್ ಪಾಟೀಲ್ ಅವರು ಗೋ ಪೂಜೆ ಮತ್ತು ರಾಶಿ ಪೂಜೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಪ್ರಧಾನಾಚಾರ್ಯರಾದ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಉಮಾ ಎಸ್ ಪಾಟೀಲ್ ಅವರು ಸಂಕ್ರಾಂತಿ ಹಬ್ಬದ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆ, ಮಹತ್ವ ಮತ್ತು ವಿಶೇಷತೆಯನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ಹೇಳುತ್ತ, ಮಕರ ಸಂಕ್ರಾಂತಿ ದಿನದಂದು ಸೂರ್ಯದೇವನು ತನ್ನ ಸಂಚಾರದ ಪಥವನ್ನು ಬದಲಾಯಿಸುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾಂಡಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊಸ ಜೀವಕಳೆಯನ್ನು ನೀಡುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಧನು ರಾಶಿಯಿಂದ ಮಕರ ರಾಶಿಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿದ ದಿನವನ್ನು ಮಕರ ಸಂಕ್ರಾಂತಿ ಎಂದು ಆಚರಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ ಎಂದರು. ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಸಂಕ್ರಾಂತಿ ಹಬ್ಬದ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು. ಹಾಗೂ ನೃತ್ಯದ ಮೂಲಕ ಹಬ್ಬದ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸಿದರು.
