Hassan, Feb. 13: Maha Shivaratri, an important festival of Hindus, was celebrated herein Rashtrotthana Vidya Kendra – Hassan. Principal Smt. Uma S Patil and Social Science subject guide Sri Umesh offered prayers to Lord Shiva. Students explained the significance of the festival. Speaking, Smt. Sindhu said that on the day of Shivaratri, devotees observe fast, stay awake and perform abhishekam on Shivalinga with Bilva leaves and milk, and worship Lord Shiva with the five-syllable mantra ‘Om Namah Shivaya’. Students performed cultural programmes by singing Shiva bhajans, performing Shiva Tandava dance and dressing up as Shiva and Parvati.

ಹಾಸನ, ಫೆ. 13: ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೋತ್ಥಾನ ವಿದ್ಯಾಕೇಂದ್ರ – ಹಾಸನದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿಂದೂಗಳ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಹಬ್ಬವಾಗಿರುವ ಮಹಾಶಿವರಾತ್ರಿ ಹಬ್ಬವನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಪ್ರಧಾನಾಚಾರ್ಯರಾದ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಉಮಾ ಎಸ್ ಪಾಟೀಲ್ ಮತ್ತು ಸಮಾಜ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ವಿಷಯದ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶಕರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಉಮೇಶ್ ಅವರು ಶಿವನಿಗೆ ಪೂಜೆಯನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದರು. ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಹಬ್ಬದ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು. ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಸಿಂಧೂ ಅವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ಶಿವರಾತ್ರಿಯಂದು ಭಕ್ತರು ಉಪವಾಸ, ಜಾಗರಣೆ ಮತ್ತು ಶಿವಲಿಂಗಕ್ಕೆ ಬಿಲ್ವಪತ್ರೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಹಾಲಿನ ಅಭಿಷೇಕ ಮಾಡಿ, ‘ಓಂ ನಮಃ ಶಿವಾಯ’ ಎಂಬ ಪಂಚಾಕ್ಷರಿ ಮಂತ್ರದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಶಿವನನ್ನು ಆರಾಧಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು. ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಶಿವನ ಭಜನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಡಿ, ಶಿವ ತಾಂಡವ ನೃತ್ಯ ಹಾಗೂ ಶಿವ ಪಾರ್ವತಿ ವೇಷಧಾರಣೆ ಮೂಲಕ ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟರು.
